Fifty-plus colleges send teams to the Scholar Awards every year. What it takes from you is smaller than you think — and the students it reaches are the ones nobody else was going to tell.
Reach is the rung FAER cannot climb alone. Most students who could win have simply never heard the Scholar Awards exist.
A FAER team is guided by a faculty member at their own college, named on the project and there through the year.
For a child who has never set foot on a college campus, the barrier isn’t ability — it’s never having seen what’s on the other side. FAER brings rural school students onto campuses like yours: into the labs and libraries, around mathematics, language, sport and the everyday life of higher education.
You already have the place. What FAER brings is the students who would otherwise never walk through the gate.
Nothing. Students apply directly, and project support for approved teams comes from FAER and its sponsors.
Under the Technology Barrier Reduction Program, rural school students are brought to institutions like yours — to the labs, the library, the hostels and the everyday life of higher education you already have.
A CSR partner can fund a cycle for your students. FAER reports back on who was reached and what got built.
