FAER has backed student innovation since 2005 — 50+ colleges and 600+ student teams every year. This is the credibility layer funders and partners check.

An AI-based tool that assists with preliminary diagnosis of skin (dermatological) conditions.
As the new platform comes online, these are the numbers we’ll track and report — honestly, including where we fall short.
How many students apply, and the share who are rural or semi-urban and first-generation.
Teams that finish and defend a project, and how many carry it further.
We looked hard at how others do this — a benchmark of twenty programmes, ten Indian and ten global. The finding was the same each time: a competition judges a project and then lets go of the student. Each one owns a rung or two of the climb.
FAER stays for the whole of it — a fair application reviewed by people, a faculty guide named on the project, support for the parts a build needs, a judged and defended project with feedback to everyone who applied, and a published record that carries a student’s name onward. That is what no comparable programme offers, and it is why a FAER outcome holds up to scrutiny.
FAER exists for the students the system usually overlooks, so fairness is built into how we choose. We measure what we do, and we publish it.
And judged on the strength of the idea and how real the problem is — not on how polished it looks.
Every decision is made by a person.
Projects completed and defended, and where those students go next.
Fair outcomes across backgrounds, with FAER’s experts reviewing every decision.
Every applicant gets specific feedback, whichever way the decision goes.
